After a three week break at home with my family, which included many rounds of golf, I’m back into training, although we are easing our way back into the full load. Only lifting last week, then progressing to weights and conditioning this week, then finally weights, conditioning and ball work next week.
In the gym we are going into a very high load, doing 3 triple super sets and 2 super set max out exercises. Each set we are aiming to fail with the weight so needless to say we are working very hard and plan on seeing some good gains at the end of the 6 week program.
On the weekend I was in Mildura, running some clinics for the Sunraysia Academy of Sport with their three training groups. The setup in Mildura is first class, with over 1800 kids trying out for the Sunraysia Academy. It was the second trip I’ve made there for volleyball coaching and once again I was so impressed with how much the community gets involved and how much volleyball means to everyone around their association.
