Welcome to my website
This website is designed to cover my professional and international careers in indoor and beach volleyball. It will also give information on my coaching philosophies and experience and introduce ProConnect, an idea that I hope will open many doors for Australian Volleyballers to play overseas and achieve their goals as I have over the past 12 years.
Since moving to the Australian Institute of Sport in 1998 when I was 18, I have been lucky enough to have countless fantastic experiences all around the world with volleyball. In 1998 I joined the National Team Squad as a junior, and in 2001 became a permanent Team member and starting 6 player. From 1998 through to 2008 I was involved in the most successful period of the National Team's history. I played in the teams that qualified in their own right for the 2004 Athens Olympics, competed in two World Championships (Argentina 2002 & Japan 2006) and won our first ever Asian Championship in 2007.
Since April 2009 I have been playing beach volleyball and competed in 4 tournaments on the Swatch FIVB World Tour, in Poland, Norway, Finland and Holland.
Coaching is an area of Volleyball that I have always enjoyed. I coached a team in the 1 day event at the Victorian Schools Cup tournament for Yarra Valley Grammar back in 1997 and it was then I realised my passion for coaching. From there I was assistant coach with a div 3 team for SV Bayer Wuppertal in Germany while I was playing in their 1st div team. Then again in Montenegro I was assistant coach for the 2nd team in Budva. Since August 2008 I have been coaching schools, associations and players all around Victoria and this has given me many opportunities to meet young players and begin to help them improve their games. ProConnect is an idea of mine which I hope will help Australian male and female volleyballers achieve their goal to play professional and international volleyball. One of the toughest challenges for any player is getting that first Pro contract. I know from my own experience and those of many of my fellow National Team members how difficult that can be. So I want to use the network of contacts I have all over the world to help make this task easier for everyone who has that goal. Click here for more information
